Mr Urlich has already had The Langham Hotel swaying once, now one of our most indefatigable entertainers is preparing to take the Queen City for one more spin around the dance floor.

If you missed out on Peter Urlich’s Dine and Dance at Auckland’s glamorous Langham Hotel last month, you’d no doubt be kicking yourself, rather than your heels. But fear not, due to popular demand he’s back with his six-piece band for a repeat performance not to be missed.

Presented by Brent Eccles Entertainment, the Peter Urlich Dine and Dance experience features a mouth-watering three-course meal and full table service allowing you to satiate your appetite for fine food as well as fine music in what is known as Auckland’s finest hotel setting.

While originally planned as a one-off performance to promote his brand new album, Between You and Me, Peter says the feedback was so overwhelmingly positive they simply had to return for another evening.

“We couldn’t believe the response to the first show at The Langham – it was completely humbling and made us realise there is a huge demand for this sort of evening in our city,” he says.

“That’s not just from the oldies either!” He adds.

“There is a massive interest in nights like these from the younger generation as well and that’s no surprise given that these songs are timeless classics, performed by timeless entertainers. And me!”

Tickets for the September 27 event are available from Ticketek from 11 August by heading online to www.ticketek.co.nz or by calling 0800 TICKETEK. Doors at The Langham Ballroom, The Langham Hotel, Symonds Street, Auckland open at 7pm.

There is little doubt that Urlich has tapped into something indelibly classic with the Dine and Dance concept – after all it was a mainstay of New Zealand entertainment for many decades – and tickets to this second night will sell out so grab yours now so you can say I’ll be there, and they can’t take that away from me…

Me, Blood red evening gown with cherry red lips, him dashing black tux and shiny patent leather shoes ready to glide..we are whisked away to a time where class and style ruled the dance floor...Peter Urlich, makes this happen with "Mack The Knife" We are lost in time with Golden tones, and tunes reminiscent of the days gone by...In between taking to the dance floor small talk and lingering into the wee hours over glasses of champagne and gentle candlelight...

After 33 years of marriage we always like to hear
"They tried to tell us we're too young
Too young to really be in love"

It always makes us smile. We did know it was true love at 15 and 17.

A dimly lit dancefloor, and the touch of your darlings hand and he leads you out. You close your eyes whilst being enveloped in their warm embrace and enhale the wonderful smell that is him slightly mixed with cologne. You hold your breathe in anticipation of the start of the song - your song - our song......

    Carzy Love - Van Morrison

I can hear her heart beat for a thousand miles
And the heavens open every time she smiles
And when I come to her thats where I belong
Yet Im running to her like a rivers song
She give me love, love, love, love, crazy love
She give me love, love, love, love, crazy love...

As my husband guides me around the dancefloor on a silver cloud of happiness and love - Peter Urclich will croon - "You give me love, love, love, love, crazy love.....

Anything that is going back to the Rat Pack era is gauranteed to get me going. Just to appeal to the romantic side of the evening I would love to hear "I've got you under my skin". This just feels appropriate when you're onthe dance floor with your partner and sharing that amazing moment.

I think something along the lines of 'Come fly with me' by Frank Sinatra would be awesome, classic, Jazzy, Seductive...a little hypnotic...plus who could miss the fact that it's 'Ol' Blue Eyes' Mr Love himself....*swoons*

Michael Buble's versions of both 'Sway' and 'Save the Last Dance for Me' always have me movin' in my car. Especially, 'Sway'. Picture someone in the driver's seat attempting a salsa at the lights, volume on full blast, not a care in the world.

Now imagine Mr Urlich offering his own take on this suave lil' number - the dance floor would be filled with couples attempting their own hot versions of the salsa, dips n' all.

'Attempting' being the operative word - but I'm sure guaranteed fun had by all.

WooooOOOooooHHhhhh I'd love something a little spicy, but with a bit of romance... I'm thinking...

    "Let me hold you tight
    If only for one night
    Let me keep you near
    To ease away your fear
    It would be so nice
    If only for one night!!!!!!"

Luther Van Dross, If only for one night... (But a really cool remixed version!) heh heh

I must say that I have a real soft spot ,especially after a few vinos, for "Cobacabana" or that exceptionally tacky but booze fuelled "Pina Colada " song!!! I would gladly teeter on blistered stilletoed feet for that!!!

As a tribute to the late great Isaac Hayes, I think 'Chocolate Salty Balls' as sung by Isaac Hayes as Chef on South Park would be quite fitting.
