DEBT is the story of a frantic pursuit: the search for the responsible for the televised cry of hunger of Barbara Flores, an eight-year-old Argentinean girl. Buenos Aires, Washington, the IMF, the World Bank and Davos; corruption and the international bureaucratic lack of interest.
Using a satirical style, à la Michael Moore but with a gentler touch, he looks into the economic collapse of one of the world’s richest countries. His journey takes us from Buenos Aires to Tucuman, and from Davos, Switzerland to Washington by way of Punta del Este, Uruguay. The overriding theme is the corruption and indifference of the international bureaucracy.
