Having recently returned from a very successful tour of Germany, the Aotea Youth Symphony and Choir, conducted by Mr Paul Harrop ONZM, will present a concert of varied classical music ranging from the Overture from the Barber of Seville to a Suite from Phantom of the Opera and including Brahms Hungarian Dances and Romance in G by Beethoven.

A choir from within the orchestra will sing Mozart's Laudate Dominum with Soprano Amanda Kirk. Instrumental soloists include Violinist Amber Vickery, and Clarinetists Seb Riordan and David MacGregor.

AYS is made up of promising young musicians from all over Auckland aged mostly from 14 to 24 years old.

The main concert will be proceeded by short items from the young Aotea Sinfonietta who will then join the Symphony Orchestra for the Lord of the Rings Selection.

All are welcome to this showcase concert of Auckland's young orchestral talent.
