Chamber Music New Zealand presents early music instrumental group Phantastic Spirits joining forces with Baroque Voices to present - Love is in the Ayre.

The programme will feature:
Madrigals by Monteverdi, Weelkes, Tomkins and Morley
Double-choir madrigals by Andrea and Giovanni Gabrieli
Solos, duets, trios by Wilbye, Frescobaldi and Monteverdi
Trio sonatas by Castella, Frescobaldi, Fontana and Cima

Baroque Voices have performed over 40 concerts in New Zealand. The ensemble combines the vocal talents of soprano, alto, tenor and bass singers, all of whom are well established soloists in their own right.

Taking their name from the 1608 Thomas Weelkes composition Ayres or Phantastic Spirits for Three Voices, early music instrumental group Phantastic Spirits bring together five of New Zealand's top early music musicians. All members have trained in England and Europe and share a commitment to authentic performance practice.
