“Harmony Spectacular” will offer the audience at Clarence Street Theatre a feast of New Zealand’s top harmony singers. See the poster.

The men’s choruses will be in top form as they are about to depart for Hawaii to attend the Pan Pacific Competitions.

The Pride of Auckland Chorus of young men provide an astonishing presentation with slick moves that enhance the extremely high quality vocal delivery which gained them second place at the recent National Competitions.

Some members from this group sing with the Rangitoto College young men in harmony quartet (BYOB) which gained second place in the College Competitions in Wellington in August this year. You will be able to hear them sing at this concert and I feel sure you will make a favourable comparison to the well known quartet MIB.

The third place winners at the National competition last year was Waikato’s own chorus Mighty River Harmony. This chorus is highly regarded for the rich resonant sound it produces.

The Auckland Chorus City of Sails will also be appearing and has a fine past history winning National championships on numerous occasions.

This year a chorus has been formed including members from the above mentioned choruses and will be known as the Northern Regional Chorus. At this concert you have the opportunity of hearing the inaugural performance of this chorus.

The Waikato Rivertones Chorus will make their first appearance since winning the New Zealand Sweet Adelines National Title in May. This chorus has gone from strength to strength since it won the Sweet Adelines International Mid-Size Chorus title in San Antonio last year. With a membership of 89 singers the chorus produces a superb sound and will entertain you with an exciting bracket of songs.

Within this group is a stunning quartet from Diocesan School for girls, known as Extra Shot. This quartet won the Young Women In Harmony regional competitions this year as well as the Novice Quartet award at the NZ National Sweet Adeline Competitions in May this year.
