The 2008 Greymouth International Film Festival showcases the best films on offer, hand-picked from around the world. This annual festival is renowned for its innovative selection across a variety of genres, from documentaries and drama to comedies, animation, retrospectives and live cinema.

There’s work from home-grown talent screened alongside top international film releases and films direct from other celebrated festivals such as Cannes and Berlin. The festival also hosts local filmmakers, giving the audience a chance to engage with them about their work.

This year Hokitika gets its own mini-festival at the Crooked Mile Cinema on 5 October.
