O E Middleton
Poet and short story writer O E Middleton has lived in Dunedin since 1970, when he was appointed Burns Fellow, and he is the author of many published works. His Beyond the Breakwater: Stories 1948-1998 was launched in July.

Christine Johnston
A writer of fiction for adults and young people, Christine Johnston has also edited Dunedin: the City in Literature. She was Burns Fellow in 1994.

Paddy Richardson
Paddy Richardson wrote her novel, The Company of a Daughter, while she was Burns Fellow in 1997. She has also published two collections of short stories and teaches at the University of Otago.

Alison Wong
Poet and fiction writer Alison Wong is a graduate of Bill Manhire’s Orginal Composition course at Victoria University. She was Burns Fellow in 2002 and her book of poems, Cup, was published in 2005.

Kate Duignan
Kate Duignan completed the MA in Creative Writing at Victoria University in 2000, received the Schaeffer Fellowship in 2001 and the Louis Johnson New Writers’ Bursary in 2002, and was Burns Fellow in 2004. Her novel Breakwater was published in 2001.
