‘The Shark Feeders’
A film about feeding sharks by hand !!! many people are against this type of human intervention but the ‘Underwater Explorers Society’ in Grand Bahama are convinced that getting people close to sharks will educate them and stop the fear that most people have of these incredible and much maligned creatures. This film shows that there is another side to the shark’s personality.
Narration by BBC award winning Brian Gear.
PLUS
“Planet Aldabra –No Man’s Land”
Commissioned by the Seychelles Island Foundation this film takes us on a journey to the largest raised coral atoll in the World, Aldabra, in the Indian Ocean. It is home to thousands of Giant tortoises, flightless birds and a marine life that until quite recently has been left undiscovered. Very few people have ever set foot on the island, even fewer have explored its underwater world.
Diving here is different, each day the tides sweep in and out of the deep channels bringing with them a wealth of marine life, riding on the current at speeds of 10 knots..this is the life blood of the enormous lagoon. Aldabra has been called a Galapagos of the east Music by Bob Brimley and Narration by BBC Natural History Unit’s Barry Paine. The films were made by Robin Kewell who will be there to present the films and answer any questions.
