Portage Ceramic Awards 2008

Opening 9 October 2008 at the Titirangi War Memorial Hall. Exhibition runs 10 October - 7 December 2008.

The judge for the Portage Ceramic Awards 2008 is Grace Cochrane, a New Zealander now based in Sydney.

Lopdell House Gallery and The Trust’s Charitable Foundation are delighted to be hosting the Portage Ceramic Awards 2008. This annual event in which the 170 entries compete to be selected for exhibition and a $12,000 top prize award. The exhibition represents a diverse cross-section of work from intricate installations and sculptures to traditional vessels, an array of styles and techniques fill the gallery with such a broad collection that any visitor can find a favourite piece.

This year the Awards, totaling $21,000 in prize money and proudly sponsored by The Trusts, will be presented at a special opening function on Thursday 9 October. Due to the huge interest in previous events, this year we will be hosting the awards presentation and entertainment at the spacious Titirangi War Memorial Hall across the road, with the exhibition in the gallery as usual.

The exhibition will be free to the public from 10 October - 7 December.
