The Flava Out West Primary Schools Kapa Haka Competitions attract thousands of children and their whanau from all over Waitemata.
Ten primary schools, with over 400 performers showcase their creative skills in the art of both traditional and contemporary Maori art forms. The performances will feature a variety of disciplines including: mau rakau, poi, haka and waiata ringa.
The unique and wonderful thing about this competition is that every group gets a trophy and a certificate for entering. Designed to encourage the children to perform, the focus is on children having a go - so there are never any loses - only winners!
