The Collectors Series: Jackie and Graham Guthrie

In October Masterworks Gallery will be holding the inaugural Collectors Series exhibition.

To celebrate their continued support for this area of the arts, two pivotal collectors, Graham and Jackie Guthrie, have been invited to work with the gallery as guest curators. The Guthries have a long standing relationship with Masterworks and, bearing in mind the restrictions of space, have chosen a group of object artists whose work they particularly admire. Each of these ten artists will be creating a new work for the exhibition.

Contributing artists are Galia Amsel, Emma Camden, Len Castle, John Crawford, Penny Ericson, David Murray, Louise Purvis, Terry Stringer, Christine Thacker and Chris Weaver.

Masterworks Gallery specialises in the exhibition and sale of New Zealand and Australian contemporary applied art with a strong focus on glass, ceramics and jewellery. The directors, Ann Porter and Sara Sadd, have nearly 30 years of experience in this area. Located in Auckland’s Ponsonby Rd, the gallery represents a select group of artists, many of whom exhibit and teach internationally.
