Tango and Bolero Maestro "Jorge Manzanero" performing live straight from Rosario, Argentina. The Maestro will be singing the songs that have made him a household name in Rosario. Listen to the most beautiful songs of Tango and Argentine Folklore sung for the first time in New Zealand. This event is not to be missed!
Artistic biography of Jorge Luis Manzanero.
Jorge started singing in choirs in the city of Rosario in the '70s, under the direction of Professor Carlos Gantus, and has done countless performances in Argentina.
In 1980 he joined a vocal group dedicated to folk music, under the direction of Hugo Vittantonio. He studied vocalization with the renowned Professor Somaschini, in Rosario. He also did a course in Audio Perception conducted by Professor Marta Varela, current Director of the School of Music at the National University of Rosario. From 2004 to 2008 he studied singing with Professor Juan Carlos Boljover, a distinguished professor at the international level, currently residing in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He is a currently studying singing and interpretation under the guidance of teacher and singer Veronica Marchetti.
Over the past six years, he was part of the theatre group MALAJUNTA, under the direction of the director and actor Omar Fanucci, and has appeared in more than 50 performances in the play "A History of Passion” a theatrical representation of the Tango Pasional, in which he appeared as singer and actor. He is also studying acting under the direction of the director and actor Cristian Valsi.
He has for several years done performances , amongst others, at the Casa del Tango de Rosario, the Cultural Centre Bernardino Rivadavia de Rosario in commemoration of the National Day of Theatre, the Professional Council of Economic Sciences in Rosario, and at the Cultural College of Dentists of Rosario.
He belongs to a family of musicians and singers, as his father Vicente was a singer and announcer in a tango radio station, his sons are professional musicians. Hernan plays in the Symphony Orchestra of Rosario, Fernando plays in the chamber orchestra, Alvaro is a drummer and Percussionist and Maria Julia is a TV Producer.
