Tango Argentino Live is New Zealand's first collaboration on Stage of an International Tango singer and International Tango dancers bringing together a truly Buenos Aires experience. Maestro Manzanero will be back on stage after his sellout Maestro Jorge Manzanero Live event.
Rodrigo and Nataly back from their Tango Tour of Australia (organised by the Embassy of Uruguay) will be accompanying Maestro Manzanero on stage performing Tango and Argentine Folklore.
This event includes a free Tango lesson with Rodrigo and Nataly from Uruguay.
Artistic biography of Jorge Luis Manzanero.
Jorge started singing in choirs in the city of Rosario in the '70s, under the direction of Professor Carlos Gantus, and has done countless performances in Argentina.
In 1980 he joined a vocal group dedicated to folk music, under the direction of Hugo Vittantonio. He studied vocalization with the renowned Professor Somaschini, in Rosario. He also did a course in Audio Perception conducted by Professor Marta Varela, current Director of the School of Music at the National University of Rosario. From 2004 to 2008 he studied singing with Professor Juan Carlos Boljover, a distinguished professor at the international level, currently residing in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He is a currently studying singing and interpretation under the guidance of teacher and singer Veronica Marchetti.
Over the past six years, he was part of the theatre group MALAJUNTA, under the direction of the director and actor Omar Fanucci, and has appeared in more than 50 performances in the play "A History of Passion” a theatrical representation of the Tango Pasional, in which he appeared as singer and actor. He is also studying acting under the direction of the director and actor Cristian Valsi.
He has for several years done performances , amongst others, at the Casa del Tango de Rosario, the Cultural Centre Bernardino Rivadavia de Rosario in commemoration of the National Day of Theatre, the Professional Council of Economic Sciences in Rosario, and at the Cultural College of Dentists of Rosario.
Artistic biography of Rodrigo Fleitas.
Rodrigo is one of Uruguay's national Tango champions and representatives, he has represented Uruguay in Tango in Australia, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Italy and Spain. He is a permanent cast tango dancer of the Philarmonic Orchestra of Montevideo. Dance Uruguayan Council (CUD), subsidiary by Dance International Council (CID) awarded Rodrigo the prize of "best dancer' for 2004. At the 1 Degree Tango International Festival in SAN LUIS (Argentina) Rodrigo's show called "Tango Attraction" won the "Condor of gold."
Rodrigo has his own Tango Company in Uruguay, BalletTango.
