After a gap of three years, renowned concert organist and former Dunedin resident, Kemp English is back in town to give a concert to launch his third CD recorded on ‘Norma’ the magnificent Dunedin Town Hall organ. The concert takes place in the Town Hall on Sunday 9th November at 3.00pm with a repeat performance at 12.00pm on Monday 10 November. Entitled Stormin’ Norma 3, the CD and concerts will contain the same mix of fun repertoire that has made Stormin’ Norma and Stormin’ Norma 2 a resounding success at home and abroad. Both CDs feature regularly on Radio New Zealand, BBC Radio and Classic FM along with recent prominent exposure on USA radio.

Kemp will chat about the pieces on the programme (which include works by Lefebure-Wely, Boellmann, Madden, Walton, Haydn and Sousa) and will be available to sign copies of his CD after the concert. Special ‘launch price’ copies of this exciting new disc will be available, showcasing many of Norma’s unique percussion effects and paying tribute to her colourful past as the Bathurst Mammoth Cathedral Organ which once travelled throughout England as part of a vaudeville show.

So whether you are already a Stormin’ Norma fan or just fancy giving something different a go, grab a friend and come along to Kemp’s concert on Sunday or Monday or both! With a nominal entry fee of just $5 there is nothing to loose! Be a part of the record audiences that the dynamic duo of Kemp and Norma attract to Town Hall organ recitals and hear one of Dunedin’s treasures brought to life in an hour or so of glorious, gentle, thrilling and thunderous music. The organ is truly the King of Instruments. Presented by the Dunedin Town Hall Organ Trust.
