In a 19th century final concert, opera rubs shoulders with tone poems from Bavaria. Verdi’s heroine in La Forze del Destino, forced to choose between her father and lover, suffers a tragic fate, foreshadowed in the dramatic overture by the use of the destiny theme. Richard Strauss’ Don Juan and Till Eulenspiegel in turn graphically portray well known rakishness and a prankster’s merry exploits. To complement the Verdi, the bass-baritone arias are in keeping with the drama of this programme.

Puccini Edgar "Questo amor, vergogna mia"
Bizet Carmen - #14 Toreador Song
Richard Strauss Don Juan Op 20
Richard Strauss Till Eulenspiegels Lustige Streiche Op 28

PIETARI INKINEN Conductor
TEDDY TAHU RHODES Bass-Baritone

In an ideal world being talented would be far more important than being good looking...but yep, not an ideal world is it? The good looking guy always gets his girl! Of course, some people are lucky enough to have good looks and brains. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder though, which is great because it means we can all find someone to love and who loves us...

I think it is way more important to be talented than to be good looking, because everybody's looks fade as we get older, but talent always stays! Although if I could, I would be both!! :)
