It's really exciting to see those cool young bands but let's not forget the greatest band "The cure". Last time I saw them was almost 20(!?) years ago, but I'm sure they'd still captivate the audience across age boundaries especially those who don't know 80's 90's great music scene!

Since Testament have cancelled we need another old skool rock band to fill the void and that would have to be Motorhead. They would top the day off for me.

The cheery on top for me would be Kings of Leon!

I am so excited about the bands playing. I have seen Shihad live this year they are fantastic live. Jon Toogood is an amazing singer. The Dandy Warhols are such a great band i love their new album earth to dandy warhols. The Living End I remember from the footie show way back and they have a great sound and do the best covers. I like the mix between new artist and old.

The line up is already fantastic - Yay Seether! But I would have to say (and I'm sorry I can't limit it to one....) Eve 6, Finger 11 or Incubus.... and just for fun The Gossip - go Beth Ditto!

I am just haveing this amazing vision where iggy pop just stumbles acros the/a stage, possibly by complete accident, and finds himself playing '1969'. Oh my dear Hive! I must stop imagening or my head will burn!
Iggy Pop would top it ( completely unrealistic...but soooo true!)
Oh! AND if Brian Jonestown Massacre started a batle with the Dandy Warhols...IMAGEN THE HYPE!

I think the perfect band to top off this lineup would be Kings of Leon.
They have that southern sound plus they have been here before and performed well unlike some of the other bands on the lineup, *cough* Dandy Warhols.
Plus their new song is sexy, the lead singer is sexy, if they were a house.. they'd be a sexy house.

I would LOVE to see Jason Mraz play Southern Amp, if you don't know who he is, look him up, he's constantly touring the globe and with a bit more of a fan base in NZ, he's sure to stop by! Really, really good.

Fallout boy would be the perfect act to top off southern amp! They play an awesome live show and it would be awesome if they were part of it

Hollie Smith - NZ is producing some fantastic female artists but Hollie is the diva - she is so raw and down to earth and she makes me feel proud to be a Kiwi woman. Her music is deep, soulful and original. Bring her on!!

Shapeshifter... There can be no other. They top off any event, and who could ever say that they wouldn't be boogying when they come on stage? Not possible.

Blindspott reunion to top of the wicked NZ bands going would be wicked I say. They were awesome @ first southern amp & I miss them!!

No body could top Metallica added to the line up. Undoubtedly the Worlds best rock band, been around for years and still producing awesome hits. Constantly winning "Best..." competitions like the Rock 1000 and rock wars!!

  • avatar

    John Power 5 years ago

It would have to be Pearl Jam .... Eddie Vedder and the boys live would be the icing to top off any rock event perfectly.

    Dagmar Nannestad 5 years ago

The one act to top off the list - Vampire Weekend - the keystone added, a perfect lineup obtained!

My most memoriable concert experience would easily be the MTV Snow Jam at Terrace Downs. It was so cold, the icy wind was blowing straight through everyone, and it gave me an excuse to hug the girlfriend, but it was so sweet with the acts playing..There were fireworks going off all over the place! We had opshop playing their brand of kiwi music, one day had the whole crowd swaying along..Kiwi blasts again when p-money came on, who ripped into the place with his tunes..Then my highlight the potbellieez! The techno had the crowd jumping like the ground was on fire and yelling along..just about melted the mountains with the music!!It was like the tunes were hitting the hills and coming back down, it was music to my ears lol.It was and still is the best concert experience of my life, and i think Southern Amp will be even better, I want to see the potbellieez again, but i got 2 get there first!lol

My most memorable would definitely be last year when I saw Madonna, Robbie Williams, Union Underground and Amy Winehouse do a private performance for my Scouts Jamboree in London. After the solo artists performed, 20,000 people raved together and believe me, 20,000 glowsticks jumping up and down in unison looks freaking AMAZING. I don't think I'll ever come close to experiencing anything as cool as that again, but I have to say I'm very keen to go to Southern Amp.

3 other mates decided we would have to run all the way to Westpac Arena if we were going to get there in time! We got to Westpac Arena JUST in time and make our way into the arena the experience was unbeatable the place was going off. Queens of the Stone Age opened up and were great I thought it couldnt get much better then that...then on come Smashing Pumpkins and the whole crowd went absolutely crazy it was amazing! You couldnt even hear youself if you yelled! The atmosphere was electric! This was my first concert experience and still to this day is one of the best days of my life and would do anything to have an experience like this again!

Walking through riccarton mall one night in Christchurch...we walk past a tall lanky man...who looks some what familiar then about 5 mins later we realise that was Billy Corgan ...the lead singer of Smashing Pumpkins!! due to play at his concert in just under an hour and currently at riccarton mall!! We run in his driection to try find him meet the man himself! Eventualy we catch up to him Borders...stunned by meeting the man we have no idea what to say...we ask for autographs which he gave us then mention wasnt he due to be playing in a concert at westpac arena in under an hour!? He said " yeah are guys going?" we were like no theres no tickets left....then out of nowhere he produces us with 4 tickets! We were all stoaked at this genorosity and couldnt stop saying thank you. He then left to go get ready for his concert and said..."I spose ill see you guys in a bit then". After we didnt know what to say...and had no idea how we were going to get there in just under 45 mins. Me and my
