Auckland Choral presents a performance of Rossini's Petite Messe Solennelle.
The Petite Messe Solennelle was written in 1863, and is a departure from comic opera for Rossini. It is theatrical, intense and colourful and the Mass has been characterised as neither little nor solemn! Auckland Choral will perform the original version, scored for two pianos and harmonium.
