As a boy on a budget it is great to have dreams and boy what dreams you can have after going to BBT. The bikes, cars, boats even the cool BBQ stuff just blows you away and gets the juices flowing. It really gives you drive to succeed so you can get out there and buy some of these things!

I loved BBTs last year, and im generally conservative type of lady... the appeal? The wow factor of all the stuff! People made those flash cars and fast bikes and massive boats and powerful tools and other shiney things... amazing... to think, to own physically or in ones heart these objects is a reflection on your persona... who doesnt want to be flash or fast or massive or shiney or amazing or powerful person!!!

Being a girl I feel slightly out of place among the scantily clad promo chicks at BBT, although I can appreciate aswell as any guy the mech toys they have on display. One time that I was there I asked the BMW guy if I could sit on the R1200C motorbike which was the same as the one James Bond drove in Goldeneye (?). If anything could make a little chick like me feel "manly" it was that bike!

Since moving in with my boyfriend I have found myself surronded with photos of sports cars and odd engine parts for the model monster trucks he builds. It's hard to understand the fascination at times as I hear the swear words coming from his workspace while he tries to rebuild an engine but when it is working and he is tearing up a dirt track, his face looks like a kid on Christmas morning who just got every present he ever dreamed of.

I have never been ! ! ! and I would love to drive a Big Mac Truck - one of those things to do before you die ! ! ! perhaps just to sit in one may suffice.... sounds like a lot of fun and am looking forward to going on the day

Its great seeing all the new sparkly cars and boats, but most of all I love to see just what the Girls Lounge is offering. Its nice to sit back and get pampered whilst the hubby is walking around the show dreaming of what toy he could buy

Well it has to be the big flashy cars....along with the stupidly large TV's and associated sound systems!

It doesn't make me feel any more like a man BUT it sure does make me smile! You've just got to love it.

Big Boys Toys is the one event that urges me to open my wallet and buy stuff. While I cannot afford the big toys, there is always something there to tempt me. The atmosphere is focussed around fun, blokey but still quite class. You see more smiles on faces there than any other show.
The promo girls help with that for sure. But the whole operation, range of goodies, music and space gives a good to be alive mood to everyone! I am really looking forward to it!

Most boys, and a few girls, want to be a fireman or a truck/train/sportscar driver or fly a jumbo jet when they grow up. By the time they are old enough they realise the dangers or cost so Big Boys Toys is an ideal way to remind them of their dreams. Even more fun if it is Dad or Grandad taking the next generation to the event.

Went with my 6 year old son 2 years ago..love the fact that he thinks his dad can ride every bike there, play any game and knows something about everything..Now that makes me feel like a man.. oh and we both enjoyed the promo girls

Boys never change - they're toys just get bigger as they get older....

  • avatar

    Jono 4 years ago

The toys are all exotic, over the top, ridiculous designs that have been designed with the heart not the head! The power, the noise, the size or lack thereof depending on the gadget leave you frothing with excitement! Can't feel more manly than drooling like a little kid at these toys!

If the sound of a Ferrari Spider or any HOT car for that matter can make me weak at the knees then Im SURE thats why an event like this makes the guys go crazy! And feel like real men!

Awesome power - cars, bikes and boats. Just getting up and going my way, and in my time. Comfort AND ruggedness.

These "toys" actually let you feel like a "Boy" again...and that is important!!
