Acoustic Fridays continue at The Gables Tavern with James Malcolm.

A salt of the earth character, the two years James spent living in a house truck on Great Barrier Island have fed strongly into his music. “I’m a laid back person, so the songs I write come from a place of warmth and affection. My sound is a blend of soul ,folk, blues, R&B, rock, pop, and classical, without fitting squarely into any of those.” The sound is raw James Malcolm, without thought for target audiences or what people want to hear.

“This is who I am. The songs express moments in my life and the lives of people around me.”

Preferably playing original music, James also puts his hand to playing classic covers of selected artists to show his versatility.
