Athletics New Zealand, with the Lion Foundation, invite you to take part in the 44th running of the Lion Foundation Rotorua Marathon and the 5th Lion Foundation 5km and 10km Fun Runs. Experience the magic of the lake, the warm hospitality of the people, and the opportunity to celebrate a great achievement.
The event is based in Rotorua’s magnificent Energy Events Centre in the Government Gardens and in 2008 will host the National Marathon Championships.
There’s a reason the Lion Foundation Rotorua Marathon is New Zealand’s largest marathon – it is because it is tough, it is spectacular, it has unstinting supporters, and it is memorable. Whether you may be doing it again or for the first time, either walking/running seriously or as recreation, we look forward to seeing you out there and encourage you to lap around the lake!
