George and Queen are an indie-folk band from Auckland. They released their debut album 'City' in August last year, which received great reviews and was followed by a successful national tour. Their second single 'Didn't Mean it that Way' flew to number one of the KiwiFM charts in October, and they have recently released their third single to radio.
"Knowing, psychedelically informed folk, George and Queen occasionally conjure the spirit of long-gone Dunedin altstrum groups as well as the clever cheese of Stereolab and the austere bare bones pop of Young Marble Giants." - Gary Steel, Metro
They are touring the country for the second time, and this time are joined in the North Island by Wellington alt-pop band Peneloping, and also local Nelson artist Kane Hogan.
