“Violinist Chuanyun Li plays with wild abandon, amazing technique” was the headline for the review of Chuanyun Li’s performance at Seattle’s Benaroya Hall on 7 April 2008 by Melinda Bargreen, Seattle Times music critic.
The review went on to say: “One of the most exciting aspects of concert-going is witnessing the début of interesting young talent, and there was excitement galore at Benaroya Hall on Monday evening for the first recital here by Chuanyun Li. … Li is a multiple competition winner with the dazzling technique that it takes to win contests – but he proved that there are more strings to his bow than just a formidable technique.”
Sinfonia’s Principal Guest Conductor Werner Andreas Albert is well-known to Dunedin audiences.
It is a coup to have acquired such this highly sought-after international conductor.
