This show is a monstrously upfront comedy based on a real life incident endured by Germaine Greer.

Fashionably famous feminist author Margot Mason has always been deadlier and cleverer than any male she has ever encountered. So when she’s held hostage in her comfortable country home Margot’s indignity knows no bounds.

How could this confused and angry young student be her nemesis? And how could her family, her agent, and even the immigrant taxi driver fail to see her side of the argument?

Bristling with intelligence and wit Joanna Murray-Smith’s new comedy explodes with ideas about gender, generational conflict and the power of the written word.

THE FEMALE OF THE SPECIES stars Elizabeth Hawthorne renowned for her unforgettable performances in MASTER CLASS, THE GRADUATE and DOUBT.

"This is a knock-‘em-dead, reactionary rib-tickler" Variety

The blurb above says this is "Bristling with intelligence and wit". Its not. At best its a hammed up farce with the odd diatribe in the midst of it all trying to drag it up by the heels.
It seems to be trying for an Oscar Wilde for women thing, but ends up coming across as an episode of The Young Ones for the middle aged middle class.
I swear, at one point I expected the cast to pause for the audience to shout "He's behind you"
    Wouldnt recommend.
