At last year’s Poetry Idol the MC was dropped on her head and the red wine ran out. This year you’d better get there early to make sure you don’t miss out on the riotous live literature sell-out that is Poetry Idol. Join celebrity judges Tusiata Avia, King Kapisi and Heather O’Neill along with MC Penny Ashton for another evening of unforgettable performance poetry.

Ten finalists will battle it out for prizes (first prize $300 cash and a $100 bar tab; second prize $50 cash and a $50 bar tab) and all finalists go away with a voucher from Booksellers New Zealand. Join the queue at the London Bar, cnr Wellesley and Queen Sts, upstairs.  Door Sales only: $5 at the London Bar, on the night, from 7.30pm on.
