Piano Jean-Yves Thibaudet
Conductor Pierre-André Valade
With the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra
Acclaimed French pianist Jean-Yves Thibaudet comes to New Zealand for the first time! Brilliant, poetic, masterful and miraculous are some of the words used to describe Thibaudet, who continues to be hailed by the press as the finest exponent of French pianism and one of the best pianists in the world today. See Jean-Yves Thibaudet play
French Finesse with the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra is fittingly led by the outstanding, inventive conductor Pierre-André Valade, who is renowned for his interpretation of repertoire from the 20th century, with the music of his countrymen being no exception. Celebrating the 100th anniversary of the birth of French composer Olivier Messiaen, the programme concludes with an incisive mature work from the neo-classical Roussel.
