Take the cool voice of Georgie Fame, blend with the smooth sounds of the Brian Smith Trio - add a generous helping of blues, jazz and reminiscing and settle in for a night of the highest quality entertainment. Playing blues from the great masters including Mose Allison, Ray Charles, Count Basie, Floyd Dixon, Willie Dixon, Duke Ellington along with his own compositions, Georgie will take you on a personal blues tour.
In a career spanning almost fifty years, Georgie Fame has carved a niche for himself as one of Britain’s most versatile musical performers. It is his mastery of jazz and blues, his distinctive voice and Hammond organ skills that have endeared generations of fans. He has worked with many eminent musicians including Eric Clapton, Count Basie, Stevie Wonder, Muddy Waters, Joan Armatrading, Bill Wyman and Van Morrison and has produced more than forty acclaimed albums, had three number one singles and picked up numerous awards.
Georgie returns to New Zealand following his highly successful 2007 sell-out concert tour. On this tour he will be accompanied by well-known New Zealand musicians led by Brian Smith (saxophone), with Billy Kristian (bass guitar) and Alain Koetsier (drums).
