In the autumn of 2008 H.I.M. are set to return to Aucklands Powerstation touring what is being proclaimed as their "heaviest, creepiest, and sexiest" album yet.

H.I.M.'s sixth studio album Venus Doom is the follow up to the platinum selling Dark Light, and demonstrates a significant leap forward for the band and a toughening-up of their sound. Since the band's first album in 1997, H.I.M have steadily risen to the higher echelons of success worldwide with their gothic-tinged, atmospheric hard rock, self-described as "love metal".

They are the first band from Finland to sell over 500,000 records in the US; have hit the top 20 across Europe, America, Australasia and recently completed a tour with Metallica.HIM has taken the stage with Linkin Park and various other acts, such as Julien-K, Saosin, My Chemical Romance, Placebo, The Bled, Mindless Self Indulgence, and Taking Back Sunday for this year's Projekt: Revolution.

Demand for tickets for H.I.M is certain to be huge, and as a sell-out is expected quickly, fans are advised to get in quickly. It's both an all ages event and R18 upstairs with a bar.

discosuperfly - just your address will do, we often send out prizes with the username. This also has the knock-on effect of giving the posties a laugh.

Hey michael.. this is totally unrelated, but do i HAVE to put my first&last names in my profile in order to win a competition??
Cos obviously eventfinder isn't gonna know my names any other way - but at the same time, i'm not particularly fond of having my name on my page where everyone can see it...

I saw them at St James - which is far more likely to be an R18 venue than PowerStation.

Either way, if you're under 18 arnt you always allowed to attend with a parent or older sibling??

Hmmm... most of the promoters don't supply the rating for their events, although we are encouraging them to do so.

Although being reasonable people, we can make assumptions about the venues - pubs and clubs have to abide by licensing rules after all.

discosuperfly - where did you see them?

I went to HIM last time and it wasn't R18... There was heaps of weed, but no one seemed to be keen for alcs. I'm not a big fan of HIM, but their concert was MIND BLOWING.

The PowerStation is an R18 venue as far as I'm aware.

Does anyone know if it's R18?
