THE JUNE CONCERTS HAVE BEEN CANCELLED, TO BE RESCHEDULED FOR NOVEMBER 2008.

From the promoter: All tickets purchased and issued for the June tour dates will be valid for the re-scheduled shows and strongly suggests fans hold on to their tickets until Monday 30th June when more information is released regarding the rescheduled dates.

The supremely stylish and exceedingly beautiful Mary J Blige is also without doubt one of the great singers of our time. The proof is in the consistent worldwide #1 albums and singles, her 23 Grammy nominations and eight Grammy wins, seven multi-platinum records and over 15 years of equal parts respect and adoration from the public, critics and fellow artists.

Mary J Blige has helped to redefine R&B and inspired a generation of artists who have followed her lead. She has secured her place as one of the world's top urban divas by appealing to older fans with her soul sensibility and maintaining youthful credibility with her hip-hop savvy.

Mary J Blige was born in the Bronx and spent the first few years of her childhood in Georgia before returning to New York with her mother and older sister, settling in the housing projects of Yonkers.

She endured a rough life in Yonkers, NY, one which left her with her fair share of physical and emotional scars but set the foundations in her adult life for her strength of character and savvy disposition, and the type of music which lift spirits, touches lives and bring her heart, soul and truth to all of those who listen.

Mary’s 8th studio album, “Growing Pains” shows Mary pushing herself in ways she never has: especially vocally. There are jazzy inflections, girl group coquettishness, nuanced phrasing -- a full range of tones and textures.

“Growing Pains” comes on the heels of her best-selling anthology “Reflections”. It’s also her first album of new material since “The Breakthrough” debuted at #1 on the US charts and the album’s first single, “Be Without You,” made chart history by holding down the #1 spot on the Billboard “Top R&B/Hip Hop Albums” chart for a record breaking sixteen straight weeks.

On September 9, 2005, Mary J. Blige performed the anthem "One" with U2 for “Shelter from the Storm: A Concert for the Gulf Coast” and again at the 2006 Grammy Awards. The collaboration brought Mary J Bilge back into the spotlight, won her new fans in the world of rock music and re-confirmed her versatility as a performer and her status as an all round outstanding artist.

Mary J Blige is the One. Don’t miss this unprecedented concert event.

For me, having soul is being connected with your feelings and channeling them in such a way that you can express yourself with love. Whether good or bad, with love. =)

Soul – reason for being – raison d’etre

Soul is the spiritual nature of any living thing. Stripped naked to its very core, and connecting that core with the world around it.

Having soul is about being completely & utterly true with who you are and expressing that with everything you do.

My SOUL would Simply Outpour Unbelievably with Love for The Hive if I was given the chance to see Mary J. Blige in concert!
    :o)

something that reaches down to your innermost depths and pulls out your longings, desires, fears & hopes. MJB singing with Bono on One - it's the one where i close my ears and belt it out, and feel more raw and exposed, yet uplifted and passionate .. crikey, it's a tricky question .. soul just IS!

The Soul of a person is in fact the essence of a person. The way they feel, the way they look at life. The whole being of a person. The way they live their life. For me and music, this is a huge part of my essence. It evokes memories and feelings associated with those memories. I have listened to Mary J Blige for years and she is one of the most talented female artists ever to grace our ears and eyes. I liken her to Chaka Khan who was a Diva as far as I am concerned and soooo understated. Keep producing the Soul sister. And lead me thru the journey with your melody Aroha mai

A soul is a descriptive reference for the part of you that determines who and what you are { slippery concept here and difficult to place the concept into understandable format } . Each person or group of persons { religions } tries to place this concept into their own concept of the relationship between their god[s] and mankind some even going so far as to include the animal kingdom { usually referring to re-incarnation } all these belief require faith { absolute belief without evidence of any-kind } . basically as a Anti-theist/atheist I think that what most people refer to as the soul consists of energy generated by the human body channel by the brain into complex patterns telling you who and what you truly are .Whether or not this energy will remain coherent beyond the death of the brain it's self is unlikely but possible { kind of hope so as you have a extremely beautiful soul it would be a shame to have it dissipate } .

Its our life, our mind, and our heart and it is what keep

Soul is different for everybody, for some, it can be simple to identify with and for others, they may never acknowledge it but it will always be there. Personally, my soul is expressed through my singing, i sing notes and text, but what makes the song more personal is when I add soul. It adds a sense of emotion, experience and a sense of being alive. Others may express soul through dance, playing sport, reading, crying. This is what makes people unique, how people express soul. It is the part of us that lives forever.

To delve into ones heart and soul and being able to translate into words the experiences of the highs and lows is something that very few people can do. To have lived through pain and to bare ones soul so openly and honestly is part of the healing process that Mary J Blige has taken her devoted listeners on. She has that connection with real feelings, real storys, that people relate to. Being brutally honest is part of who we are and Mary J Blige is sharing her soul and journey with us and that connection she has with millions is part of our make up that is our soul.

In it's purest and simplest form, a soul is the essence of our identity. It is what separates us from one another, something intangible and infinite, that makes each and every one of us a unique life form. To me, having soul is to be yourself fully and completely, no matter. Having soul is being true to yourself and who you are on the inside. Soul is more than color, more than creed. From king to peasant, every single person on this earth is equal in that they were gifted with a soul. Soul is true appreciation of the myriad pleasures in life both great and small, and courage in the face of adversity. It is loyalty, selflessness, honesty, integrity, and honor. Having a soul is not just to exist, but to live.

Having soul-to me means a variety things. It means first and foremost being true to oneself. Being who you are and doing and saying what you feel-that is what soulful means to me.If you are honest and open with yourself then this leads on for you to be able to be soulful with others and those closest to you. Having soul doesnt neccesary mean going through hardtimes or battles, being soulful doesnt mean you have had to have seen the world, or experienced all human emotions...it means learning daily from our mistakes, taking everything in your stride and standing up and being proud of who you are on all levels regardless of your age, gender, race,or occupation etc. Having soul is essentially being human.Peace.x

Soul is so deep...whenever I hear Mary J Blige sing I feel like I've walked in her shoes. She is the true definition of "Soul Queen"only because when you listen to her music, and I don't mean only one or two songs, but all her songs you can relate to her songs whether it be an upbeat song like "Just Fine" or a more emotional-from the heart song like "Not Gon Cry"...and come on ladies Mary had me singing that song like my man had left me.lol!!!
But in all seriousness a true soul singer will have you feeling emotions you never thought you had and that in itself is "Soul".

Soul has many meanings to me. Soul food, eating with my family and friends, and having that sense of belonging, of unconditional love…..Soul music gives you many a ha moments, especially when the artists sings what you are living, its the base and minor chords you feel the most, when you sing about love that was never to be or when you have love that you can’t imagine your life without it. Soul comes from the heart, and the artist/listener knows and feels it, no matter where he/she comes from. Soul music is universal.

What soul means to me is resonance. I get goosebumps all over when 'something' resonates with me... usually listening to a great piece of music, singing out of tune to my fav song, dancing, and the rest! I'm absorbed in that moment and it feels damn good ;0)

Soul - Is what is dear and special to you. For me Soul is the love I have for my family and friends. Soul is where you harbour those feelings of extreme happiness when a baby is born or of deepest despair when a loved one is lost. In music soul is this also, where these feelings are brought to life through song to share these feelings with others who can relate to them.
