Music Director Marc Taddei opens the 2008 Season with Mozart's final symphony, the dazzlingly inventive 'Jupiter', a revolutionary triumph that transcended the musical boundaries of its time. 'Apollo' (Leader of the Muses) is Stravinsky's serene and luscious sounding classical ballet for strings.
Then there is the thrill of the flamboyant opening chords of Tchaikovsky's most famous piano concerto with its big Russian tunes and heroic bravado, performed by Sydney Piano Competition winner John Chen as soloist.
