THE JUNE CONCERTS HAVE BEEN CANCELLED, TO BE RESCHEDULED FOR NOVEMBER 2008.

From the promoter: All tickets purchased and issued for the June tour dates will be valid for the re-scheduled shows and strongly suggests fans hold on to their tickets until Monday 30th June when more information is released regarding the rescheduled dates.

The supremely stylish and exceedingly beautiful Mary J Blige is also without doubt one of the great singers of our time. The proof is in the consistent worldwide #1 albums and singles, her 23 Grammy nominations and eight Grammy wins, seven multi-platinum records and over 15 years of equal parts respect and adoration from the public, critics and fellow artists.

Mary J Blige has helped to redefine R&B and inspired a generation of artists who have followed her lead. She has secured her place as one of the world's top urban divas by appealing to older fans with her soul sensibility and maintaining youthful credibility with her hip-hop savvy.

Mary J Blige was born in the Bronx and spent the first few years of her childhood in Georgia before returning to New York with her mother and older sister, settling in the housing projects of Yonkers.

She endured a rough life in Yonkers, NY, one which left her with her fair share of physical and emotional scars but set the foundations in her adult life for her strength of character and savvy disposition, and the type of music which lift spirits, touches lives and bring her heart, soul and truth to all of those who listen.

Mary’s 8th studio album, “Growing Pains” shows Mary pushing herself in ways she never has: especially vocally. There are jazzy inflections, girl group coquettishness, nuanced phrasing -- a full range of tones and textures.

“Growing Pains” comes on the heels of her best-selling anthology “Reflections”. It’s also her first album of new material since “The Breakthrough” debuted at #1 on the US charts and the album’s first single, “Be Without You,” made chart history by holding down the #1 spot on the Billboard “Top R&B/Hip Hop Albums” chart for a record breaking sixteen straight weeks.

On September 9, 2005, Mary J. Blige performed the anthem "One" with U2 for “Shelter from the Storm: A Concert for the Gulf Coast” and again at the 2006 Grammy Awards. The collaboration brought Mary J Bilge back into the spotlight, won her new fans in the world of rock music and re-confirmed her versatility as a performer and her status as an all round outstanding artist.

Mary J Blige is the One. Don’t miss this unprecedented concert event.

Living through a rough beginning in her life has created a beautiful heart and soul in this Diva. This is something I can relate too but if you never give up you can become whatever you wanna be, just as this classy lady has shown the world!!!

Soul is 'crazy'. It is 'everything'. You're open to the unknown, whether you want to be or not. Just 'keep your head' up and 'keep it moving'. When challenges arise, you're soul knows no boundaries, remember that 'I'm not gunna cry'. Keep in mind it is a 'beautiful day' and 'love is all we need' ('thank you lord')!
When a lover cannot 'be without you' then you're realise that this person sees the beauty of you're soul. You're soul will be content as you whisper the words ' you're all I need'.......

Having soul is about having depth and integrity. For some it can be religious, others about empathy, others about passion. Soul for me about deep love.

Having Soul...Mary J said it herself, when she said, "Where I'm from there weren't many good days, but to hear Patti and Chaka Khan...I knew everything would be alright. They saved my life."

Having soul is depth and understanding that is so on another level, that you will never be able to connect with Soul Music and Singers until you allow yourself to go deep where they are singing from.

Having soul is touching base with ones true spirit, with ones true heritage and true belief, having soul is not only in the music you hear but is a place you can retreat to when all things around you seem dismal and you feel neglected. Soul is your Friend, Soul is your lover, Soul is your companion and soul is your Muse.....

Soul to me are the deepest and innermost feelings and emotions that are expressed in the form of music, verbal expressions or having a good aura. When words are sung or spoken from the soul they can be uplifting and life changing as they usually tell a life story with lots of meaning and love as the source.

soul....what is soul?....soul is another one of those four letter words that invokes strong, personal, emotionally-loaded and long-winded responses; with very little room for interpretation and a lot of hot air!
soul is intangible and indescribable, yet we all try to name it? for me, soul LIVES in music!
music is a way of expressing the soul. in its purist form, music has the power to transcend our souls, and lift us mere mortals from our sometimes, shitty and ordinary lives....it allows us to share in an artists' emotion or experience....it allows us to feel....to be connected....to heal....to escape....to imagine...! soul....
SEE! didn't i tell ya, it's one of those four letter words which invokes emotionally-loaded and long-winded responses!!..esp for a music junkie!...PICK ME....PICK ME!

'Soul' to me means the aesthetic beauty within someone that is naturally exerted. The soul is what makes one's mind, heart and body unique. The id before any filters or influences. Therefore music from the soul is the person's true self expressing opinions and feelings in that person's most natural way, no act. Mary J to me is no act, she knows what she wants to say and knows how to put it across to pinpoint that particular audience she's trying reach. She, like many others, got soul, aint no doubting...it's music that moves other souls...

Soul or Seoul? Anyway, right now I'm reading a great biography about the legendary Sam Cooke, y'know, 'You Send Me', 'Chaingang', his beautiful, smooth, dulcet voice was more soulful than any singer before or after, and the ladies just swooned, no problems there I might add, poor guy even got murdered over one.

Soul is what it is! Different strokes for different folks!

SELFWORTH, SELF RESPECT & STRENGTH OF HEART
OWN BALANCE OF BODY, MIND & SPIRIT,
UNCONDITIONAL BELIEF IN ONE'S GOALS AND DREAMS
LOVE YOURSELF, LIVE PASSIONATELY, KNOW YOURSELF

    SPELLS SOUL

The true spirit of her music and songs defines her truly - no one should be ashamed or afraid of where they have come from. Your future is in your hands, and you can make the best for yourself by helping yourself and not blaming your environment or any other person or factor - go for it yourself. Wonderful sounding stuff.

Having soul enables a person to create powerful lyrics and beats like Mary J Blige, and having it reach everyone and anybody who'll listen to it. Having soul means everything inner and outer, everything is soul.
