Don't miss the opportunity to see work by one of New Zealand's leading contemporary artists.
John Reynolds, who has recently been announced as a finalist in the prestigious Walters Prize for contemporary art, is creating a new site-specific installation to accompany his series Speaking Truth to Power.
This exhibition explores the notion of the 'intellectual' as it exists within everyday life. Reynolds irreverently paraphrases words and terms from Lawrence Simmons' book Speaking Truth to Power for which he provided the illustrations, reconfiguring them as a series of signposts and markers.
The series is accompanied by several new works which extend the series, challenging the perceived boundaries between intellectual, artist and the everyday.
