Dutch Mill Taranaki Cycle Challenge

This event has been organised as a recreational cycling event. It has 150km of magnificent mountain and rural scenery passing through eleven Taranaki townships.
Like last year there will be a separate men's and women's mass start race for riders with a National license. This category will start at 7.30am with standard race Referees, rules and wheel wagons for each category. At 8.00am the tandems will leave followed by a staggered start for the the solo's and the relay section.

The event consists of 7 legs so you have the option of having a relay team between 2 to 7 riders, or going solo for the whole journey. Teams need to provide their own support vehicles. This cycle event caters for all levels of cyclists. The event will culminate with a prize giving at 6.00pm.

Safety
Safety is of prime importance with the Police, Taranaki District Health Board and St Johns all involved to help make a safe event. On the day of the event, support vehicles must leave New Plymouth before 7.30am, and are prohibited on the course between New Plymouth and Eltham after 8.00am. Support vehicles must stay on the support vehicle route from Okato. See website for details. To avoid disqualification all Cycle Challenge rules must be adhered to.

Road rules must be obeyed at all times.
