Don’t miss this witty and scorching summer play!
It’s Bella’s birthday. Next year she’ll be thirty (God forbid). Her father’s dying in hospital. Her ex-boyfriend is a psychological bully. None of her closest friends really know each other, but she’s decided to herd them all down to her local for a party. Things are going badly enough, until an old flame joins the fray…
Pulled from pillar to post by thoughts and memories of her dying father and the torture of her vacuous twenty-something life, Rabbit (Bella’s nickname) explores the emotional minefield of becoming an adult. Over the course of the alcohol-fuelled evening the characters expose themselves in a torrent of acid one-liners.
Rabbit, the impressive first play by English playwright Nina Raine, was one of Time Out’s picks of the week for the entirety of its season.
Starring: Tania Nolan, Sam Snedden, Danielle Mason, Mel Dodge, Matt Minto and Peter Vere-Jones
A New Zealand Premiere.
