Comedy for those that need it most!
Need a good laugh at the end of a hard day, but don't want to drive back into the city? Wellington Improvisation Troupe (WIT) has the answer - crash and burn elimination improvisation where the audience decides the winner.
WIT players are bringing Improv Comedy back home to the suburbs where they grew up. With shows in Linden, Ngauranga, Lower Hutt and Newtown, Wellington Improvisation Troupe is taking the Fringe Festival to the fringes of Wellington.
“The Fringe needs to get out into the Fringe,” says WIT Creative Director, Derek Flores, “Everybody deserves a laugh, no matter where they live.”
Improv is like theatrical tightrope walking: balancing one's wit and working together to make up stories. It’s hilarious when it doesn’t work and magic when it does. WIT will be performing their sell out show, Micetro - Improv Comedy. Twelve improvisers vie for the Micetro title with the audience deciding who wins and who gets eliminated.
Feb 8th – Linden Social Centre, Linden Ave
Feb 9th – The Rock Church, Glover St, Ngauranga
Feb 12th & Feb 13th – Newtown Community Centre, Colombo St
Feb 15th & Feb 16th – Little Theatre, Queens Dr, Lower Hutt
