One of the world's best loved and respected sopranos, Dame Kiri te Kanawa, is back in New Zealand for a one-off performance at Nelson's Sealord Opera in the Park, marking the popular event's tenth anniversary and the 150th anniversary of Nelson being given city status by Queen Victoria.

Dame Kiri is supported by the Vector Wellington Orchestra with Marc Taddei, and is joined by bass Jonathan Lemalu, tenor Simon O'Neill and mezzo Helen Medlyn for this very special concert. Tickets on sale now.

Its ain Trafalgar Park instead of Saxtons Field this time, since big crowds are expected, and Saxtons Field is being done up. I'll be crew at this gig=)

Yes, the Nelson Arts Festival tickets are on sale now, but Dame Kiri at Sealord Opera in the Park is not an Arts Festival event. The Arts Festival is October 11- 22 (with some great shows). Opera is 16 February 2008. Register with Sashi.eggers@ncc.govt.nz for early bookings when the tickets go on sale next month.
