Once upon a coffee Hayden and Mia met, now their links with coffee may destroy their relationship. Mia’s past and her link to the coffee industry depicts a picture many do not know exists. Hayden’s role in the coffee business, speaks of the trade and the stories told to the coffee drinkers today. This play touches on the consumerism of coffee, which shows the stark contrast in the way that we live compared to coffee farmers. ‘Once upon a coffee’ is an amusing and dynamic play that intends to take a fresh look at our daily fix.

About the Loopen Experiment

The Loopen Experiment is an experimental theatre company based in Christchurch, New Zealand which has been creating original theatre since 2005. Loopen creates original works that seeks not only to offer audiences a unique theatre-going experience, but also to create a space where we are inspired to think more deeply about ourselves and the world around us. Loopen has participated in Art festivals both nationally and internationally as well as created the ‘Loopen Experience’ theatre workshops, which have now been running for two years.
