Based on the huge success of 2007, we are pleased to announce another magical evening with the Hawke’s Bay Orchestra. This is truly a magical experience where you will be able to sit in an intimate setting with superb acoustics encircled by fifty year old muscatel grapevines.
The grassed terraces will be lit with fairy lights and from this position the audience will be able gain an excellent and intimate view of the performers, as well as the rolling hills of central Hawke’s Bay stretching out before them.
The programme crafted by Principal Guest Conductor Mr Gregory Squire is entitled “Russian Rapsody”, this year’s concert explores the incredible wealth of music to come out of Russia.
Tchaikovsky takes pride of place, His music contains some of the most passionate and heartfelt utterances of the human soul as well as some of the most delightful dance music ever written.
Featured will be arias from Eugene Onegin and The Queen of Spades, dance movements from The Nutcracker, and Tchaikovsky’s stirring 1812 Overture.
