Summer has returned and that means baseball is back!
The Auckland Premier Baseball season rolls into its final round before x mas this weekend with the top players from the Auckland competition taking to the field in the seventh round of the Auckland Championship.
Once again we are treated to not two, but three huge games at the McLeod Park Baseball Diamond. The action blasts off at 10am as the West City Divisional side takes on their arch rivals from Howick in the first game of the day.
The Premiers of West City then take to the field at 1pm, to take on Howick 2, the first of a double header for the visitors.
After an embarrassing opening round loss to Howick in Howick, losing 10-1 in what can only be described as one to blow out the cobwebs, the West City Premier side will be keen to avenge the hiding dished out by their cross town neighbours. This time it's in West City's house and the boys will be keen to see a reverse of the opening exchange.
The third game of the day sees Howick backup their huge game against West City to take on the Angels.
Both West City teams are in great form, and with this the last round before the Xmas break, there are sure to be some fireworks at the the newly upgraded ballpark out west.
It's now an even greater place to spend a Sunday!
So grab your friends and family, bring a picnic and some sunscreen, and get down to your local ballpark at McLeod Park to check out the action.
The boys of summer are back in town!
