Mr West! Mr West! Tickets on sale Monday 13 October.

Yes that’s right lovers of rap, hip-hop, pop, rock, hell just music in general, valedictorian Mr Kanye West brings the Glow In The Dark Tour to New Zealand this December!

Arguably the most important creative force in hip-hop music today, Kanye is in a class of his own. Building the future of hip-hop as he digs back in time with his unique ear for samples, connecting the past with the present in a brand new way.

Enrolling for world domination in 2004 - no matter where you lived, if you owned a radio, a TV, a computer or a were simply taking a walk to the canteen, Kanye West broke into your music consciousness with his first album The College Dropout.

Kanye’s follow-up album of 2005, Late Registration reaffirmed him as the man at the top of his class. Featuring singles of distinction Diamonds From Sierra Leone & Gold Digger, the album’s a must for any music student, full or part time.

Now with his third release Graduation Kanye has once again been voted class captain showing the rest how it should be done. Leading the charge with Stronger & Good Life, Graduation is another critical & commercial touchstone. Kanye West is the man with the Midas touch!

Classmate to Kanye will be special guest Nas.

Coming to the fore with his now classic 1994 debut album Illmatic, the native New Yorker endeared hip-hop purists and critics alike, earning him a reputation as the teacher of hip-hop. Following multiple album releases and reaching sales over 12 million, Nas’ career came to a turning point in 2005 in a surprising, public reconciliation with Jay-Z, a long-time rival for rap’s East Coast throne.

The move resulted a Def Jam deal, and the release of Hip-Hop Is Dead (2007), once more proving his legendary sharp mic skills. Nas stands tall as statesman, mentor, and the “conscience” of hip-hop.

Kicking off the night’s proceedings will be New Zealand’s own hip-hop A-Grade student, Scribe.

Scribe’s debut album of distinction The Crusader, brought phenomenal critical and credible success on both sides of the Tasman. Boasting a platinum debut, Scribe regrouped at his Christchurch home, working on the 2007 sophomore release Rhyme Book. The album debuted top 10 in the ARIA album chart.

Don’t miss the graduation night of 2008, The Glow In The Dark Tour.

"Come said the Boy" by Mondo Rock would be an interesting choice for a re-vamp/mix. It's got a synth-y intro with a come hither vibe. Kanye lures with the nuances he gives to his music, this song has pretty much the same intention. It would be cool to see what he could do with it.

I would love to see Him do a song with the backing of Dance Magic! David Bowie- If you dont know it watch the Labriynth! Best song ever, and now that kanyes moving into the technoy 80's synth feel it'll be perfect- Loads of Synth and a awesome beat! Can see him ripping it up in his next album! WOOHOO! How exciting!

You know that song by the Blues Brothers in their first movie:

    SHE CAUGHT THE KATIE

It's so jazzy and funky, kanye could rock that in his white suit, smooth moves and give it some brass on stage!!! Awesome

How about "More than This" by Roxy Music. Bryan Ferry's Vocals are so enigmatic, yet forceless, they blend into the melody. So some proper vocals over that would make a nice counter-point. for some reason, I can also imagine "more than this" going well with the drums from Kanye's "love lockdown"; they'd pump up that ethereal guitar part.

"More than this" is a great song but Bryan Ferry looks like a gigantic muppet in the video. MR West could redeem it, and make it cool again.

I've actually thought about this before.

Seeing as Kanye's turned to the vocals... the old soul classic "Ain't no sunshine when shes gone" By Martin Gaye would be amazing!!! Some how reminds me of him singing for his mother (Mama).

I'd love to hear Kanye sample 'Blue Monday' by New Order. He's good at breathing life into old tunes, so I'm sure he would do this dancefloor anthem justice.

I think it would be amazing to hear Kanye's take on Johnny Cash. The one that could be really amazing would be Folsom Prison Blues. That song is just so fantastic and I think really open to new and different interpretations as well as diffent genres.

It would have to be Sam and Dave: Hold On, Im Comin'. He would totally be able to own that and mix it up in a fresh new crazy way!! Great old song and it deserves an artist that would do it justice!
