After building up a solid fan-base with his band NineMiles, and working extensively with bands such as 48May, Goodnight Nurse, Steriogram and Sola Rosa, Stu Strawbridge has finally made the eagerly anticipated move into the arena of solo musicianship. His debut offering, ‘Dance’, shows just how comfortable and competent this young Hamiltonian is with the change. Combining the earnest, sincere lyrics of someone who deals in the heartfelt rather than the contrived, and the musical hooks that never fail to capture audiences.

Stu demonstrates a proficiency and talent destined make a mark on New Zealand music. ‘Dance’ was engineered and recorded by 48May’s own Captain Hook, and was requested to be played live on MoreFM for NZ Music Month 07.

Drawing inspiration from the likes of Jeff Buckley, Coldplay and Counting Crows, his low-key, intimate shows have earned him a reputation as a respected songwriter and charismatic performer, and have caught the attention of various New Zealand musicians. With an ever-growing fan base, and an array of emotive and honest songs, Stu Strawbridge has the drive and determination to succeed.
