Throughout Southeast Asia, tourists and locals alike throng to colourful night markets to sample fragrant local snacks and browse cheap and cheerful craft stalls for bargain souvenirs.
Now you can transport yourself from Wellington’s winter to the warmth, flavours and spicy aromas of a typical Southeast Asian Night Market at the TSB Arena on 16 August.
Nine Southeast Asian nations -- Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, Indonesia and Vietnam, plus the Cambodian, Myanmar and Laotian communities – have joined forces to bring you this magical new event in partnership with Wellington City Council and Asia New Zealand Foundation.
Amongst the highlights will be Wayang Kulit puppeteers from Indonesia and a specialist batik printer from Malaysia, plus traditional Southeast Asian games.
Bring along the whole family to enjoy the best of food, craft and performance from Southeast Asia at the TSB Arena from 2.00pm until 10.00pm.
