No Laughing Matter - Chris Slane Privacy Cartoons 1996-2008

Privacy has received special attention in Chris Slane’s cartoons since the mid 1990s. Many aspects of privacy have featured – the impact of technology, business use of information, health, government databases – he has challenged them all.

Chris’ career began to take shape while he was studying town planning and doing illustrations for Craccum, the Auckland University student magazine. Since then, Chris has worked as a freelance cartoonist, contributing to a number of publications over the last two decades, such as the NZ Herald, the Listener, Metro and AA magazines.
