Compleat Female Stage Beauty is by Jeffrey Hatcher. Directed by Gaye Poole (Cosi, The Laramie Project and Half Life) it is "an intimate psycho-sexual backstage historical comedy. Splendidly theatrical, it's a witty allusive game with some feeling payoff to boot."
This play was adapted by the playwright for the film Stage Beauty.
Set in 1661 it is about Edward Kynaston, the last boy player on the London stage and what happens to him when his livelihood, his lover and his sense of self are taken away from him.
A special feature of this production is the costume design by Cherie Cooke.
Actors include: Richard Homan, Alec Forbes, Graeme Cairns, Kirstine Moffat.
