Every Tuesday and Thursday morning at 11am at the Film Archive, bring your kids, family and friends to watch a programme of Classic Cartoons for Kids.
This screening is free and includes the world’s first Mickey Mouse cartoon Steamboat Willie (1928), Walt Disney classic To Itch His Own (1958) and Ferdinand the Bull (1938), plus a 1933 puppet animation by New Zealand’s own Len Lye. Also on the programme is Maurice Sendak’s classic tale Where The Wild Things Are (1973).
Ideal for children aged five upwards, the programme is approximately 45 minutes.
Currently at the Film Archive there is also a season called Features for Kids running each Wednesday night at 7.00pm including such favourites as The Silent One and A Dogs Tail. See the website for more detail.
