Kiwi icons Lynda and Jools Topp will perform a one-night only concert at Auckland’s Powerstation.
Don’t miss what promises to be a very special event, with stories and songs celebrating a 25 year career and featuring special guests, including Don McGlashon and Elvira Kurt, a celebrated stand-up comedian from Canada.
The concert shall be filmed for the documentary feature film Untouchable Girls, currently in production, and due for release early 2009 in cinemas nationwide.
The Powerstation show is a never-to-be-repeated opportunity to not only experience the Topp Twins up close and personal, but to also be part of NZ film history. Better known as their comedy characters, Camp Mother and Camp Leader, and the Kens, Lynda and Jools are stepping out from behind their alter-egos and will perform original acoustic songs that cover a broad musical range from political folk to blues/country, interwoven with intimate stories from their lives growing up in rural NZ, becoming activists and international performers, all infused with the Topp Twins brand of humour.
The concert will be an invitation to step inside the Topp Twins’ lounge and meet some of the people who have been a huge influence on them over the years.
Other guests include Nancy Kiel from Sydney, Hilary King, Don McGlashon and Mereana Pitman, who also campaigned with the Topps at Bastion Point and on the frontlines of the Springbok Tour.
The Topps will recapture some important moments in NZ history at the Powerstation on April 8th and also deliver a hilarious and moving night out. Tickets are limited so book now.
