Black Crowes VENUE CHANGE: Now at the POWERSTATION - current tickets still valid!
The Black Crowes are one of the few contemporary bands who have also shared the stage with Jimmy Page, Bob Dylan, The Rolling Stones, Aerosmith, AC/DC, Neil Young, The Grateful Dead and many other legendary artists. They are without doubt one of the greatest American rock 'n' roll bands of all time and they are appearing in NZ for one show only, at the Logan Campbell Theatre Auckland on Saturday April 5th.
From the beginning, when they roared out of the gate with their multi-platinum debut album SHAKE YOUR MONEYMAKER in 1990, The Black Crowes have played by their own rules. They’ve gone against the grain and formed an intimate connection with their audience, while maintaining their independence and creative freedom from standard industry practices. This has earned them the title of “The Most Rock ‘N Roll Rock ‘N Roll Band In The World.” Chris and Rich Robinson have never veered from their mission of creating rock and roll that is fierce and genuine, with a sound that doesn’t conform to easy categorization. You can hear it in the band’s six studio albums--which have racked up worldwide album sales exceeding 19 million--and in their panoramic live shows.
The Black Crowes -- Chris Robinson (vocals), Rich Robinson (guitars), Steve Gorman (drums) and Sven Pipien (bass), recently joined by Paul Stacey (guitars) and Adam MacDougall (keyboards)--have returned in full force to share “15 Years of Cosmic Rock-n-Roll” with this highly anticipated and long awaited return of a “…thoroughbred American rock ‘n’ freakin’ roll band” - The Black Crowes. To coincide with the NZ appearance, Stomp Records will be releasing the highly-anticipated new CD release entitled WARPAINT, to be released worldwide on 3rd March, 2008.
“…this band is at the top of its game...worked the crowd into a state of rock-and-roll delirium." (Washington Post)
“…the Crowes remain one of rock’s best live acts, as hard-grooving as during their heyday and caked with an extra layer of rambling-man soulfulness.” (Village Voice)
