New York-based Chinese Spectacular showcases legends from the Tang, Song and Qing Dynasties, bringing the beauty of 5000 years of traditional Chinese culture to international audiences.
It is the largest overseas Chinese cultural production in the world and will tour 65 cities this year and perform more than 200 shows.
Auckland composer Estelle Diana Protheroe Cook was very impressed by last year's show. "I have never seen anything like it in my life. If they come back I am definitely going!" she said.
The show’s designers and choreographers have spent years researching all the show's elements to provide audiences with the traditional culture of China that was almost completely destroyed during the Cultural Revolution.
