Stagecraft presents Shakespeare's "Titus Andronicus" - the single most popular play in his theatre during his lifetime and considered one of his bloodiest.
Set in imperial Rome, triumphant general Titus returns from years at war with his captives , Tamora, Queen of the Goths and her 3 adult children. Stubling into a power struggle between the late emperors' sons, Titus fatally backs Saturninus, only to have him turn on the general and marry Tamora...an action that begins a seemingly unstoppable series of revenge killings . Yet, for all the violence that follows, Shakespeare's passionate language balences beauty and barbarity, madness and humanity
