Drawing inspiration from the dirt, gravel & niaouli trees of New Caledonia, Footnote Dance perform new works especially choreographed to complement War in Paradise - the feature exhibition at the Museum of Wellington City and Sea.
The dancers will bring to life a soundscape composed by Wellington musicians Plan 9 that recreates popular music from the period with both New Zealand and American favourites, plus a taste of popular French lullaby. A mingling of Kaneka chants is also blended into the ambient music to transport the audience to New Caledonia of the 1940s.
Don't miss this chance to see New Zealand's national professional contemporary dance company. Each performance is one hour long.
