Only recently made available to the New Zealand Musical Theatre market Andrew Lloyd Webber’s longest running Broadway musical Cats is based on ‘Old Possums’ Book of Practical Cats’ and other poems by T.S. Eliot.

The multi award winning musical introduces Rum Tum Tugger, Bustopher Jones, Grizabella, Rumpleteazer, Skimbleshanks and others of the Jellicle Cats clan in dance and song as they prepare for the Jellicle Ball when one among them will be chosen to ascend to the mystical Heaviside Layer.

This truly international hit stage show set in a magical junkyard originally opened in London in 1981 and ran for a record breaking 21 years; features that not to be forgotten that most memorable hit song Memory.

Cats is one of the most loved musicals of all time, and has a great family appeal.
